Celebrating Older Persons with Dignity
We are proud to have been a part of this year’s International Day of Older Persons celebrations, organized by the County Government of Kilifi in collaboration with the State Department of Social Services.
This day is a reminder of the invaluable role that older persons play in our families, communities, and nation. They carry our history, wisdom, and traditions, and they deserve nothing less than dignity, love, and quality care.
At DementiaAware Kenya, we remain steadfast in our mission to raise awareness about dementia, fight stigma, and ensure that older persons, especially those living with dementia, are supported and respected.
As we reflect on this year’s theme, we reaffirm our commitment to working with families, communities, and policymakers to create a Kenya where aging is embraced with dignity and compassion.
An elder is the pillar of society. To care for them is to uphold our humanity.
