DementiaAware Kenya at the STRIDES Project Launch

12 Nov 2025

Where community partnerships meet compassion and real change

DementiaAware Kenya was honored to join the County Government of Kilifi and development partners at the official launch of the STRIDES Project. This initiative, supported by Global Affairs Canada, focuses on strengthening gender equality and ensuring that women and girls have better access to quality health information and services. Our participation reflects our commitment to advancing inclusive health systems that acknowledge the realities faced by diverse groups within our communities.

As an organization working to break the silence surrounding dementia, we recognize how misinformation and stigma continue to affect older persons across Kilifi. The STRIDES Project provides an important platform for integrating conversations around inclusion, awareness, and equitable health access. For us, inclusion means ensuring that community health programs consider every stage of life, and that no one is left behind because of age, gender, or lack of information.

The launch reaffirmed the power of collaboration between government, civil society, and community organizations in building healthier, more informed communities. DementiaAware Kenya will continue to contribute to this shared agenda by promoting awareness, driving conversations that challenge stigma, and supporting efforts to make Kilifi County a leader in inclusive, community-driven health initiatives.
